There is something about the photos of Jane Birkin. She simply exudes the effortless, bohemian yet chic French style we all want to emulate even if we are going into an office every day and couldn’t carry a basket purse or wear jeans. With the Jane II tunic, I tried to capture the ease of that effortless style, but still keep it chic enough for the office and those without a hint of bohemian in their style.
It’s ironic that her actual style is so bohemian given that she’s the namesake for the Hermes Birkin bag, arguably the chicest bag in fashion history next to the Chanel 2.55 and Hermes Kelly bag. A quick Google search and you’ll be hard pressed to find a picture of her not in jeans looking perfectly relaxed.
That is what I wanted to bring when I created the Jane tunic. That same ease of a tunic, but with an urban refinement. Something a little more chic, but still relaxed. Every woman loves a tunic, but they aren’t only for the beach. Because it’s made of an ultra light silk crepe de chine you can layer it with the Natalie jacket to wear to the office.
